Terms of Service

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and legally capable of entering into binding agreements to use this service. By accessing or using Lost Pet Specialists, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy.

2. Accounts and authentication

Sign-in is by one-time link sent to your email or by a one-time SMS code. We do not store passwords. You are responsible for keeping access to that email and phone number secure, for the accuracy of the information you provide, and for all activity occurring under your account. Tell us promptly if you believe your account has been accessed by someone else.

3. Services and tiers

• Free intake: a written set of immediate next steps tailored to the answers you provide.
• Personalized Analysis ($49): a written, case-specific search plan delivered as a PDF, typically within 24 hours of purchase.
• 30-Minute Phone Consultation ($75): a scheduled 30-minute call with a specialist for focused follow-up questions. Available after the Personalized Analysis is purchased.
• 90-Minute Phone Consultation ($195): a scheduled 90-minute working call with a specialist. Available after the Personalized Analysis is purchased.
• On-Site Search (call to discuss pricing): in-person search work, available within roughly 300 miles of Dallas, Texas, scheduled by mutual availability and subject to travel logistics. Pricing is quoted directly and is not sold through the site checkout. Available after the Personalized Analysis is purchased.

Tier sequencing exists for substantive reasons: each higher tier builds on the deliverables of the prior one. Specific features, pricing, usage limits, and deliverables may change with reasonable notice. We may add, modify, suspend, or discontinue features at any time.

4. No guarantee of recovery

We provide expert guidance and search effort. We do not and cannot guarantee that any specific pet will be found or recovered. Outcomes depend on many factors outside our control, including weather, terrain, time elapsed, and the actions of third parties.

5. Billing and payments

Paid services are processed by Stripe, who handles billing and payment-method security. By making a purchase, you also agree to Stripe's applicable terms. Currency is USD. See our Refund Policy for cancellations and refunds.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• violate laws or third-party rights;
• attempt unauthorized access to accounts or systems;
• reverse engineer or exploit the service;
• upload malicious code;
• abuse, harass, or impersonate others; or
• use automated systems in ways that impair the platform.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules.

7. Your content

You retain ownership of the content and data you submit (case details, photos, messages). You grant us a limited license to host, process, transmit, analyze, and display that content solely to:

• provide the service to you,
• operate and improve the platform,
• maintain security and reliability, and
• train or improve AI-assisted systems as described in our Privacy Policy.

You are responsible for ensuring you have the rights to submit the content you submit.

8. AI-assisted features

Parts of this service use artificial-intelligence providers and machine-learning systems to draft recommendations, summaries, analyses, and replies. AI-generated content may contain errors or inaccuracies and should not be relied upon as the sole basis for critical decisions. Your judgment as the pet owner remains the controlling factor in any field decision. The Privacy Policy describes whether and how submitted content contributes to model training.

9. Third-party services

The service integrates with third-party platforms, APIs, and providers, including payment processors, email and SMS providers, mapping services, and AI providers. We are not responsible for third-party services or their availability.

10. Our content and deliverables

The site, the assistant, and the underlying templates and software are owned by Exa Controls, LLC. We grant you a personal, non-transferable license to use the analyses, plans, and other materials we deliver to you for the purpose of recovering your pet. Don't republish or resell them.

11. Disclaimer of warranties

The service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, availability, accuracy, or non-infringement. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation.

12. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Exa Controls, LLC is not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, punitive, or exemplary damages, including lost profits, lost data, or business interruption. Our aggregate liability for claims relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid us during the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim.

13. Termination

You can close your account at any time from your account page. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or that create operational, legal, or security risk. Sections that by their nature should survive termination — payment obligations, content licenses for delivered work, intellectual-property protections, disclaimers, limitation of liability, and governing law — survive.

14. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Wyoming, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. Disputes shall be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Wyoming.

15. Changes

We may update these Terms periodically. Material changes will be communicated by website notice, email, or in-app notification. Continued use after changes become effective constitutes acceptance.
